The IWC Big Pilot Top Gun Woodland Perpetual calendar watch with a 46.5mm green ceramic case is the first model in the history of IWC to be paired with a ceramic bracelet of the same color. The perpetual calendar automatically recognizes different month lengths and adds a leap day at the end of February every four years. The IWC Schaffhausen 52616 movement features a Pellaton automatic winding system composed of ceramic components, with two mainspring barrels ensuring a power reserve of seven days. When IWC Schaffhausen fired this colored ceramic, it mixed zirconia with other metal oxides and sintered them in an oven at a temperature exceeding 1000 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the case liner and crown of this watch are made of Ceratanium® ceramic titanium metal, a material independently developed by IWC. It not only possesses the structural integrity of titanium but also has the high hardness and scratch resistance of ceramic.

The "H" -shaped link watch chain is exquisitely crafted from 38 ceramic parts. During the manufacturing process, raw materials are pressed into molds to form green blanks, which are then processed into the final geometric shapes of each part. During the sintering process, each part will shrink by approximately one-third. Therefore, the volume of shrinkage must be taken into account in advance during the design stage to ensure that the movement and the case fit tightly afterwards and meet the extreme tolerance requirements. After sintering is completed, each component must undergo sandblasting treatment before the assembly of the watch band can begin.
